TRIP: Go On Assignment with Nicholas Kristof

All American university students (interested in international issues) take note: New York Times columnist Nicholas D. Kristof has just announced his third Win a Trip contest.

The winner gets to go on a reporting trip with Kristof to blog and file videos about global poverty and its remedies.

I’m doing this for two reasons. First, I want to engage young people about global issues that I’m passionate about. Second, it’s good journalism, for you’ll bring a tool to reporting from Africa that I no longer have: a fresh eye.

The last time he took someone with him, the trip resulted in a film, Reporter, recently screened at Sundance.
