VENTURE: Filters for Families Abroad

Annie Bartholomew, 15, USA - My venture idea is to distribute filters made of recycled aluminum to families and people in third-world and poverty stricken countries. The filters would be simple to use and require no replacements, a must for desolate areas.
My science project in eighth grade inspired this idea since I was doing an experiment on filters. After testing and comparing simple, yet different. Then I realized that it would be even more effective if I combined the ideas. I want to create this venture because clean water is a human right and everyone should have access to it. It also would be eco-friendly, which is important to me since I care a lot about the environment.
We will measure success by how many filters are distributed and know if we are achieving our goals if we distribute for than 100 in the first 12 months. We will measure our success in fundraising if we raise over $5000 in the first year, then we know we are succeeding in raising money.
Goals:
- Fundraise at least $2000 dollars at main fundraising event.
- Send at least 100 filters abroad
- Host two events for raising money this year
- Create brochure about lack of clean water on recycled paper and distribute 100-200 of them

what countries do you plan to send your filters to? Really great invention, Annie!
